Rubber-Backed Runner Mats

Our rubber-backed runner mats are built to withstand heavy footfall, making them ideal for busy reception areas, entrances, walkways, cafeterias, kitchens and corridors. Suitable for use across all commercial settings, including shops, offices, entertainment venues, public attractions, airports, train stations, stadiums and hotels – they provide reliable floor protection where it’s needed most.

Choose from three standard sizes, or for the perfect fit, our runners can be made to measure in sizes up to 200cm wide and 800cm long, with a choice of seven standard colours or contact us for a custom Pantone colour match. All of our rubber-backed runner mats are built to the same exacting specification as our Heavy-Duty rubber-backed mats, delivering outstanding durability and performance in busy commercial environments. For the busiest environments, such as airports, stadiums and train stations, our runners are available with a double-thickness 2.8mm rubber backing, matching the construction of our Heavy Duty+ rubber-backed mats.

Please Note: Only Dark Grey is available in the full 200cm width; Red/Black and Green/Black can only be made in widths up to 115cm and all other colours can be tufted up to a maximum width of 150cm.

Please Note: While we can make runner mats in lengths up to 800cm+, mats of 2m wide that are longer than 550cms will not be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.

Made from 100% regenerated ECONYL® fibres, the two-tone nylon pile is designed to stand up to sustained footfall without losing its shape, supported by a fully nitrile rubber backing that keeps the mat securely in place whatever the weather.

We also offer branded runner mats, including promotional printed custom floor runners, ideal for retail stores, exhibitions, product launches, showrooms and promotional events. Our custom runner mats feature the same heavy-duty non-slip rubber backing and upgrade options, with your choice of logo, graphics and background colour.

Please note: A 2m x 8m mat is the maximum size we can manufacture, but it would weigh 50 kgs and take two people to lift. This is beyond washing capability and can only be cleaned by hot water extraction.

Our rubber-backed runners are also available to rent, allowing you to spread the cost. Our rental service includes regular cleaning and replacement with freshly cleaned mats. Just drop us a message to ask about mat rental.

In the mat rental market, many companies are restricted by the size of their washing equipment, often relying on smaller machines or tunnel batch washers that struggle with larger mats. At UK Mats, we use Tonello 330 washer-extractors with open-pocket doors, allowing us to wash mats of 3, 4, 5, and even up to 8 meters in length, depending on the width.

Please note that custom sizes will take up to 8 working days to deliver, as they are bespoke and handmade.

Pile yarn: Manufactured from 100% ECONYL® regenerated nylon (BCF polyamide), made from twisted, heat-stabilised multifilament fibres.

Pile weight: Approx. 722 g per square metre.

Backing

Base material: Durable nitrile rubber backing containing 34% post-industrial recycled content within the compound. Free from phthalates and engineered to deliver excellent oil resistance, long service life and stable performance. Compression moulded with strengthened edging on all sides.

Overall backing thickness: Approx. 1.4 mm.

Border

Edge thickness: Around 2.5 mm.

Edge width: Approximately 20 mm (2 cm) all round.

Safety

Electrostatic performance: Antistatic surface behaviour of roughly 10¹¹ ohms (tested to ISO 10965).

Personal charge generation limited to approx. 2 kV (tested to ISO 6356).

Safety & Compliance Fire classification: Tested to EN 13501-1 with a fire rating of Cfl-s1.

You may cancel your order prior to shipment or within 7 working days of delivery (working days exclude weekends and public holidays). Notification of cancellation must be in writing by letter or email. In accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations 2000, notification by telephone is not sufficient.

Where goods are returned for reasons other than error on our part, damage or loss, you are liable for the return shipping costs. If any goods prove to be unsuitable, please return them within 7 days in the original packaging and in an unused condition for a full refund, minus postage costs.

For custom mats that have been made to order, your automatic right to return lapses, unless the product is faulty, in which a full refund or replacement will be issued. This is in accordance with The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Orders for heavy-duty rubber-backed mats can be cancelled any time prior to dispatch with no charge. Orders cancelled after this time will be subject to carriage charges. Please be aware that any custom mats (mats altered from standard sizes to suit your specification) are exempt from your right to cancel.
